The research lines of the LITERACIES group are the following:
- Research on new methodological approaches to literacy research (New Materialism, Posthumanism, Linguistic, Digital, Sensory and Collaborative Ethnography).
- Study of the materiality of literacy in children and young people from communities belonging to less favourable Urban Areas.
- Research on cognitive skills in early literacy in order to develop predictive models of reading and writing training in monolingual and multilingual contexts.
- Career literacy: Research on the development of career management competencies from childhood and in vocational education and training.
- Survey design, implementation and analysis of family literacy environments.
- Creation of a multimodal corpus of literacy events in Andalusian children and young people, with two didactic purposes: development of multimodal and critical discourse analysis for its application in Social Science research, and development of multimodal and critical discourse analysis aimed at the training of undergraduate and PhD students.
- Study of the development of multimodal skills in multilingual learning environments.
- Development of awareness programs about new forms of digital literacy, key competences, popular culture and artistic expression geared towards teachers, from an integrating socio-material perspective.
